The JEONJU Cinema Project supports bold, creative independent film projects from Korea and around the world, with production funding from the JEONJU International Film Festival. Through the JEONJU Cinema Project: Next Edition call for entries, we invite three to four projects from Korea and abroad, respectively, to a pitching session at the 17th JEONJU Project, and one Korean and up to two international projects will be chosen for final selection, with funding of up to KRW 100,000,000 for a Korean project and KRW 50,000,000 for international projects.
We call for filmmakers working on feature-length independent films. Please submit your projects!

Monday, November 11 to Friday, December 20, 5 PM (KST)
Project Eligibility
- A feature-length film at a stage of development or production without any copyright or legal issues.
- Fictional film: Must have a complete script and can be at any stage of production.
- Documentary or experimental film: Must have completed the pre-production stage.
Note : Projects funded by other film festivals or organizations are eligible, provided that
their Asian Premiere is held at JEONJU International Film Festival.
Applicant Eligibility
- A film production company or producer holding the copyright for the film.
- A director who has previously directed at least one feature film.
- A production company with a valid film business license and a track record of producing at least one feature film.
Selection Process and Criteria
- The jury will first review the submitted documents to assess each project’s originality and feasibility for production and completion. Based on this evaluation, three to four Korean projects and three to four international projects will be selected as finalists for the JEONJU Cinema Project: Next Edition. Finalists will be invited to a pitching session during the 17th JEONJU Project.
- Following the pitching session, the jury will select one or two international projects as the JEONJU Cinema Project. The selected project(s) will receive an investment fund from the JEONJU International Film Festival.
JEONJU Cinema Project Investment Fund
- Total Investment Fund: A maximum of KRW 50,000,000
- The fund will be disbursed into two installments: the first within the year of participation and the second in the following year. The exact schedule for the transfers may vary.
- The number of recipients and the amount may be adjusted at the discretion of the selection committee or jury members.
