The 24th JEONJU International Film Festival Appoints PARK Taejoon, CEO of Birdy Film, as the Executive Producer of the JEONJU Project

The JEONJU International Film Festival (JEONJU IFF, Festival Co-Director Min Sungwook and Jung Junho) appointed Park Taejoon, CEO of Birdy Film, as the executive producer of the JEONJU Project. He will be active as the executive producer of JEONJU Project, and will be in charge of planning and managing the JEONJU Cinema Project, the representative industrial program of the JEONJU IFF.
Park Taejoon is known to the public as an executive producer of Mother (2009) and a co-producer of Snowpiercer (2013), both were directed by Bong Joon-ho. He also worked on numerous other films, including Luck-Key (2016), The Handmaiden (2016), Believer (2018), and Heart Blackened (2017).
Park Taejoon, who recently joined, said, “I have been working as a producer in the film industry for a long time, and I would like to use the experiences I have acquired so far to help young filmmakers. And I will do my best.”
Min Sungwook, Festival Co-Director of the JEONJU IFF, expressed eager anticipation for Park’s leadership in the JEONJU Project. “Park Taejoon is an industry expert who has participated in the production of drama films and numerous documentaries that have achieved great success. We are delighted to have an expert in film production in a variety of environments join our film festival. I believe that his vast experiences in the film industry will be of great help to both newcomers and established filmmakers who participate in this year’s JEONJU Project.”
The JEONJU IFF is stepping up the preparations for the industrial programs of the JEONJU Project with the appointment of Park Taejoon as the project’s executive producer. In particular, as this year marks the 10th anniversary of the JEONJU Cinema Project, the JEONJU IFF plans to deliver rich and meaningful programs to look back on the achievements of its projects as well as the footprints of its showcases and also discuss the film festival’s future directions.
The 24th JEONJU IFF will be held for ten days from April 27 (Thu) to May 6 (Sat), 2023, in and around Jeonju Film Street. And the JEONJU Project will be held for three days from April 30 (Sun) to May 2 (Tue), 2023, during the JEONJU IFF.
